LED walls and projection screens are both popular options for displaying visual content at events. You may already have a preference or an idea of what you’d like for one reason or another, but it’s important to understand the relative merits of each.
LED Walls vs. Projection - What is right for me?

While a projection screen uses a projector to project a ‘beam’ of light and colour onto a surface, much like what is used in a cinema, or a lecture theatre.

Size: LED walls are modular, which means they can be assembled in a variety of sizes and shapes to fit the needs of the event. Projection screens, on the other hand, are limited in size by the size of the projector and the distance between the projector and the screen.
Cost: LED walls can be more expensive than projection screens, especially if a high resolution is required. However, they can also provide a higher-quality viewing experience, which may justify the extra cost for some events.
Power: Generally, an LED wall will require more electricity to run than a projector (depending on factors such as projector size and brightness). This can be significant if you have a large or high-resolution wall, and some venues may not be able to accommodate.
Weight: LED walls are large and require significant rigging equipment, either to hang them from the ceiling or to ‘stack’ them on the floor without falling over. Depending on your venue constraints, this may require additional planning and thought. Projectors, however are usually lightweight and can be mounted in a variety of ways.
Setup and maintenance: Setting up an LED wall can be more time-consuming and complicated than setting up a projection screen, as each LED panel must be assembled and programmed. Additionally, LED walls may require more maintenance and repairs than projection screens, as individual LEDs can fail and need to be replaced. However, for an individual event, this is less likely to be a ‘show stopper’ than if a projector lamp fails, for example.
Viewing angles: LED walls have a wide viewing angle, which means that the content can be viewed clearly from a variety of angles. Projection screens, on the other hand, may have limited viewing angles, especially if the screen is not mounted at the correct height or angle for your audience.
Overall, LED walls and projection screens both have their advantages and disadvantages, and the choice between them will depend on the specific needs and budget of the event. Event planners should consider factors such as brightness, resolution, size, cost, setup and maintenance, and viewing angles when deciding which option is best for their event.
