Tom Ford ‘Fabulous’ Launch, Covent Garden

The Brief:

Tom Ford announced their perfume ‘F***ing Fabulous’ to a wave of industry and media hype. For the launch of the signature scent, they needed an installation at their flagship Covent Garden retail location that matched the groundbreaking product whilst still exuding the values of the brand: quality, luxury, and future-focused design.

The Solution:

PYTCH Designed a unique, custom light installation based on the Tom Ford ‘cube’ motif. The entire structure was composed of pixel-mappable frosted LED lighting, programmed to a time-coded musical show. The centrepiece was a gloss black, glowing Tom Ford Cube, complete with lit ‘TF’ logo. From the centrepiece the scent was disseminated using special scent machines so that passers-by could smell the perfume as they walked through Covent Garden.

The Result:

One of the most technically demanding temporary installations that the team has undertaken, with over 240 individual connections to solder during the build, the entire thing had to be erected in one night. The installation lasted for a week, during which visitors could watch the entire light show from a distance, or walk through it and be immersed in the light and scent. The installation formed the centrepiece of a landmark launch for Tom Ford.
